Melodies In My Head is an audiovisual project, inspired by fifteen years of ethnographic interviews, created by Thomas Burkhalter and Daniel Jakob.
Melodies In My Head is an audiovisual project created by anthropologist, artist and Norient Festival founder Thomas Burkhalter, together with musician and producer Daniel Jakob. This creation explores the contemporary realities of artistic work through a dialogue of stories, images and music.
Inspired by fifteen years of ethnographic interviews, the show highlights the real and imagined experiences of artists from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Switzerland. Blending pop, underground club sounds and experimental aesthetics, it spans a wide emotional range, from joy to anger, from trauma to doubt, in response to today's political and social uncertainties.
Melodies in My Head offers a sensitive reflection on the role of artistic creation today, inviting audiences to think about the connections between art, society and freedom of expression.
